Visual branding
for translators

by sara reis

You know your work is good. But do your visuals show it? I help freelance translators and copywriters build clear, consistent brands that increase their visibility and attract the right clients.

Does this sound familiar?

● Your visuals feel inconsistent across your website, LinkedIn, and other assets.
● You’ve outgrown your current brand, but don’t know what to change.
● Your website doesn’t reflect where you are right now.
● You’re attracting the wrong type of clients (or none at all).
● You rely on quick fixes instead of a clear visual direction.
● You spend too much time tweaking templates instead of focusing on your work.

You’re not alone. Most translators were never taught how to translate their expertise into a strong visual presence. That’s exactly why I'm here.

What I can help you with

From a compelling logo to your new website structure, I cover a wide range of needs, whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting out.

1. Visual identity

I help you build an intentional and consistent visual identity, which includes a logo (with variations), colours, typography, and graphic elements. A visual identity should reflect who you are as a professional and who you want to work with. Depending on your needs, this can be a simple yet solid foundation, or a more complete visual system.

2. Social template design

Tired of scrolling through endless Canva templates and still not finding the right fit? Or perhaps you're constantly tweaking what you already have. I design custom templates tailored to your brand, so you can create content more quickly and consistently. No more starting from scratch, forcing generic designs to work, or redoing things every time. Just simple, ready-to-use templates that support your daily work, keeping your brand clear and professional.

3. Website prototype

A website starts with strategy. I help you define the structure of your website before it goes into the hands of a web designer: pages, sections, and content tailored to your work as a language professional. No more guessing what to include or how to present your services. While web designers focus on design and user experience, I focus on clarity and positioning. This way, you move forward with a clear, strategic foundation that saves you time and ensures your website truly supports your work.

How everything works

A straightforward and collaborative process, designed to guide you step by step, without the overwhelm.

01

You reach out

You get in touch and tell me what you’re looking for. Based on your needs, I send you a detailed proposal with scope, timeline, and everything included, so you know exactly what to expect from the start.

02

Getting to know
your brand

Once we move forward, you receive a short questionnaire so I can get to know your business, understand your goals, and know more about the kind of clients you want to attract. This step helps me build a visual direction that fits you.

03

First concepts

I create and present the first visual proposal based on everything we’ve discussed. This is where your brand starts to take shape, with a clear and intentional direction.

04

Feedback
and refinement

You share your thoughts, and we refine
the design together. I make the necessary
adjustments until everything feels aligned
and right for you.

05

Final delivery

You receive all final files, ready to use
across your platforms, along with guides
to make things simple. Everything is organised
and easy to apply, so you can start
showing up with confidence and consistency.

After we work together, you’ll have:

  • A visual identity that feels aligned and intentional.

  • A more professional and consistent presence.

  • Tools that save you time in your day-to-day work.

  • A clearer way to present your services online.

Hi, I'm Sara.

A Portuguese marketing translator, copywriter, and... brand designer!
Nice to meet you :)

I love helping clients find the right words and nail their Portuguese voice in marketing campaigns. But I’ve always had a soft spot for the visual side of things too.

Back in 2016, I created Designing Translations, a side project where I helped translators shape their visual brands. It grew into something quite special, and for a few years I balanced it alongside my translation business.Eventually, I chose to focus exclusively on words, but the design questions never really went away.I still see talented colleagues like you who struggle to make their assets work for them, or simply don’t know where to start. And I get it. I was in your shoes when I started my freelance career more than ten years ago.So while I’m not returning to my design brand, I do want to keep supporting my professional community, bringing together the two things I do best. When I’m not translating or designing, you’ll probably find me at the theatre, reading a classic novel, or exploring a new corner of Portugal!

Why work with me

You bring the expertise. I make sure it shows. Together, we'll build a clear and thoughtful visual brand
that reflects the level of your work and helps the right clients recognise your value.

I understand your industry

I’m both a language professional and a designer. This means you don’t need to explain everything from scratch. I understand how the sector works and the challenges of an online presence.

No guesswork, just clarity

You don’t have to figure everything out on your own. I guide you through the process with a clear structure and direction, so you always know what we’re doing and why.

Design that supports you

This isn’t just about designing a pretty brand. I'm here to help you create a consistent and professional presence that reflects your expertise and helps you attract the right clients.
